How to: Galaxy nails

I have new nails, and they’re out of this world!
Galaxy print is everywhere right now; tights, shorts, make-up and nails. So I thought I’d try out Galaxy nails and I managed to take step by step pictures this time! (Some of them are a little blurry), sorry but it’s the best I could do by myself.

You will need:
*Black nail polish
*A variety of other colour nail polish’s (Eg: Blue, pink, yellow)
*White Nail polish
*Some cut up sponge
*Glitter nail polish

Step 1
Paint your nails black.

Step 2
Take your piece of sponge, and dab the white nail polish gently on about half of the nail.

Next steps
Next take your chosen colours and dap them over and around the white with the sponge gently. I used purple, pink, blue and a tiny bit of silver.

And here’s how mine came out

If you like, you can add a glitter top coat to make it look more starry, but I didn’t have any with me.

And there we have it! I hope this how to wasn’t too difficult to follow. Now get spaced out!

Need a confidence boost? – I am that girl

This is just going to be a short post about a website I stumbled across and just had to share!
These days the internet is just full of hate, so it was so nice to come across a website that is for making girls feel good about themselves.

You can send in a picture of a girl, such as your best friend, and write lovely things about them to make them feel good, how nice is that?

Check it out!

Marble nails – Nail art using water?

Can you believe that these nails were created with just nail varnish and water? I never knew this was possible, and so easy! I love the look of these nails although I think next time I’ll use less blues so that more colours show through.

To get this look yourself paint your nails white. Once they’re dry take your chosen colours and add drops of the nail varnish to a cup of water. Get a cocktail stick and make a pattern with the nail varnish in the water. Dip your nail in and the colours should stick to the nail in that pattern. Once dry wipe the nail varnish off your skin with nail varnish remover and you’re done!

Sorry I don’t have step by step pictures for this how to, I had my hands full and no-one to take pictures for me. Next time I do a nail tutorial I’ll try and get someone to help out.

How to: Ombre hair!

You’ve probably all seen ‘ombre hair’ lately, but incase you didn’t know there was a name for what you’ve been seeing I will set you straight.
Ombre hair is a dip dye, where the tips of your hair are dyed, and the top isn’t. It also often involves a darker shade of colour fading to lighter shades towards the bottom of the hair.

As I often change my hair, adding colour all over the place I decided to try out this technique using blues, and I took pictures to help you get the look yourself!

If your hair is dark, you will be better off lightening or bleaching your hair before taking the next steps. I bleached mine about two weeks before, and used Johnsons baby shampoo before adding the blue so the dye would take better. (Make sure you put clothes you don’t mind ruining before you continue to the next step!)

After your hair has dried, tie your hair in two plaits, only plaiting until you get to the length you want to dye, and then tie the end of the plait like normal. The next steps depends on the amount of colours you’re going to use. If it’s just one you only need to dye the section left as it is. I used three colours so I added hair ties where the colour would change, like so;

Sort your dyes into the order you plan to apply them. Mine was Crazy colour sky blue, Manic panic atomic turquoise and Crazy colour lilac.

Apply the colours in order between the hair ties.

Remove the hair ties by either cutting them or sliding them off, and then blend the dyes on the bits that was under the hair ties.

I left the dye on for an hour before rinsing it out. Leave your hair to dry naturally. The colours didn’t blend as well as I hoped as the lilac turned almost the same shade of blue as the sky blue. Maybe I’ll try again with pink and purple. Anyway, here’s a picture of my hair after it was rinsed and dried;

And here’s my hair after being washed and styled, the next day; (I think it looks better)

What do you think? Do you like ombre hair? Would you give this a go?

I love unicorns!

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved three things.
1. Pink
2. Sparkles
3. Unicorns

The other day I was looking through Iron Fist clothes online and stumbled upon my PERFECT collection! It’s called ‘Demon donkey’ and is the ultimate collecetion for alternative girly girls! The collection is a bubblegum pink with glitter, unicorns and ice creams – So cute!

I want all three items, problem is they’re not so purse friendly for a student, so maybe I’ll just have to settle for one thing – but it’s so hard to choose!

I know you’re all dying to see what I’m on about, so here’s the beautiful collection;

I think the heels would look great for a night out or even prom! The flats would look cute for your every day outfits, and the bag is perfect for school or work as it’s big enough to fit everything you’ll need.
What do you think? Is it your kind of thing?
